Background

Sylvia P Sportswear was established in 1994 by Sylvia Pichler and commenced trading under that name from home based premises in Thornlands, Queensland, until their customer base grew to such an extent that we needed new premises.  In 2003 Sylvia P purchased our own premises in Capalaba, south east of Brisbane Australia, to accommodate their continuously growing business

Sylvia P has now grown to the point where they are the largest Australian manufacturer of gymnastics Lycra wear. The company has over 15 employees and is proud to use the Australian Made title.

Manufacturing Capability

Sylvia P specialises in all Lycra wear for gymnastics sports, aerobics, swimming, ice-skating, athletics, canoeing, weightlifting, dance costumes, ballet wear. We also manufacture non-Lycra tracksuits. To ensure that our garments are of the highest quality we only select fabrics, crystals and haberdashery from the world’s leading manufacturers.

We use the latest computer numerical control (CNC) cutting machinery to ensure maximum accuracy and consistency in the cutting process. This CNC machine is controlled by a CAD software program for design and pattern making.  Our sewing and pressing machines are all industrial quality and the internal training process ensures that our local employees meet Sylvia P’s high quality standards.

Brand Quality and Recognition

We currently supply competition and training Lycra wear across all gym sports to some 180 gymnastics clubs, academies and institutions throughout Australia. Sylvia P has supplied gymnastics Lycra wear to the Queensland State Team, Northern Territory State Team, Western Australian State Team, Queensland Academy of Sports and South Australian Institute of Sports. We are also growing internationally and supply Lycra wear to gymnastics clubs in the USA, UK, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Sweden and Switzerland.
